Whether a salad for a salad sauce both were pretty new recipes for me. Being more exposed to Indian cooking an Italian recipe for challenging and exciting. After browsing through the internet and watching many youtube videos, came up with an idea. Why not try my own ingredients and make something interesting. Here is what I came up with healthy and lip licking salad sauces. My very first attempt integrating Indian sauces to Italian recipes.
Baked Beans mint salad sauce : Serves 3
Ingredients:
- Canned baked beans - 1 tbsp
- Olive Oil - 1/2 tbsp
- Lemon juice - 1 tsp
- Salt - 1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Mustard paste - 1/4 tsp
- Chopped mint - 5-6 leaves
- Honey - 1 tsp
- Chopped ginger - 1/2 tsp
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and serve with any kind of salad. Lemon juice and salt can be adjusted to our preference.
Yogurt chickpeas salad sauce : Serves 3
Ingredients :
- Yogurt - 2 tbsp
- Mayonnaise - 1 1/2 tsp
- Chopped - 1 tsp
- coriander
- Olive oil - 1/2 tbsp
- Lemon juice - 1 tsp
- Mustard paste - 1/4 tsp
- Green sauce - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - 1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Honey - 1/2 tsp
- Minced Chick - 2 tbsp
- peas
Mix all the ingredients well together and add as topping to any salad and goes well with bread too.
Lemon and salt can be adjusted to our preference.
Green Sauce :
Ingredients :
- Mint leaves - 1/2 bunch
- Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch
- Lemon juice - 1 lemon
- Green chilly - 5-6 nos
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Roasted chick - 2 tsp
- peas
- Garlic cloves - 3 nos
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
Add mint, coriander, garlic cloves, cumin seeds, roasted chick peas ,green chilly and salt in a blender and blended it into a smooth paste by adding lemon juice. This sauce is used widely in many North Indian chat recipes.Goes well as a spread on bread omelette.
